New opportunities present themselves every day in various aspects of life, especially in the work force. People come and go. And, in most cases, with the addition of new personalities also brings an addition of diverse skill sets.
This semester at Olivet College, there are plenty of new faces, most specifically in the admissions department and the Kirk Center.
With a seasoned admissions department staff consisting of Director of Admissions Lisa Lehman, Assistant Director of Admissions Michelle Lang, Admissions Assistant Margaret Heppner and Data Application Specialists Cathy Smith and Adam Gross, the team has recently welcomed interim Dean of Enrollment Lincoln Morris and Academic Enrollment Specialists Kylie Horrocks, Jared Stratz, Sean McMahon and Lauren Kirkham.
McMahon, who is one of the newest staff members to join the admissions department as an academic specialist, joined the admissions team this past August as a student recruiter and after having previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Now in his capacity as a specialist, McMahon’s job is to meet with Comet-hopefuls on their scheduled visits and actively recruit high school students for academic programs and athletics on campus.
McMahon is excited and looks forward to be working with “the respectful students and staff on campus,” adding that he has enjoyed working with the students he has been prospecting and meeting those who schedule visits to learn more about Olivet College.
In addition to the admissions department, the Kirk Center has also added new kitchen staff to meet the growing demands of campus dining, such as Chef Manager Tracy Shaver.
Shaver has embraced his new position with the Chartwells team by getting to know the campus community and enjoying his daily interactions with the students, staff and faculty. For Shaver, the real excitement comes with the opportunity to bring his culinary skills to the table, as he looks most forward to expressing his culinary creativity and crafting new menu items for the students, faculty and staff to enjoy.
