What's new, SGA?

The student government had their first meeting of the academic school year on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The meeting consisted of elections for representatives, and covered important events that the student government is trying to accomplish through the 2015-2016 school year.

First, are the elections as followed: Greek representative Brandi Thomas, senior representative Adrian NewellSturgil, sophomore representatives Emily Cooper and Courtney Neering. The freshmen representatives were Jeff Humphrey and Derek Milinsky.

These candidates are helping improve student life around campus.

The student government has many plans for activities during the 201516 academic school year. During home Comet football games, Greek houses and clubs are welcomed to enhance team spirit by gathering behind the back end of the football stadium. Each time a touchdown is scored by Olivet, the bell will be rung accordingly.

Around 100 people will be allowed to support the football team from behind the end zone on Sept. 19, Oct. 3, Oct. 17 and Oct. 31.

Other activities include the Ollie’s on Feb. 21, where a $3,500 grant is offered.
