The University of Olivet has a Health and Wellness Center located in Room 212 of the Mott Academic Center building. As stress and sickness set in this season, it might be helpful to know what the center offers.
According to Robin LuckadooChadderdon, director of Health, Counseling, and Wellness, the Health & Wellness Center is here to help the students who don't feel like they have strength and support. They are also here to help students in all areas of wellness and to help students be successful.
The following are some of the services currently available to all students and sometimes, University staff:
Vaccine clinics
Free HIV testing
Pregnancy tests
Over-the-counter medication
Free counseling for students, but there are fees after six sessions. There are four contracted therapists, including one therapist on Zoom for people not on campus. There are also four peer coaches, which are personal life coaches for students. They run an area where students can lie down if they are not feeling well. They have covers, heating pads, heated hand massage for writing essays, etc.
Free feminine hygiene products in campus public restrooms.
Blood drives, partnering with on-campus groups
Toothbrushes and the opportunity for dental health checks in partnership with Delta Dental and the Kellogg Community College
A barber chair for hairstyling and cutting
The annual Final Countdown finals support nights, Dec. 2-4, 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the Mott Auditorium and other locations on campus
To get in contact with the Health & Wellness Center you can stop in the Mott Academic building Room 212, or email counseling@uolivet.edu or rlshadderdon@uolivet.edu.
