The University of Olivet hosted their annual banner contest last week. Students were asked to vote on their favorite banner, which represented various clubs and greek houses.
An email was sent from Student Government Association (SGA) on Friday, Oct. 4 thanking everyone for participating, coming to the pep rally and announcing the winners.
First place went to Soronian House (IKO), followed by Gruen Chemistry Society and Elite, respectively.
Sophia Spahr, sophomore, president of SGA, said “I thought the winners did a great job sticking to the theme of game night.”
Valerie Nelson, Sophomore, Gruen Chemistry Club, said her club took second and “we are so proud of this and everyone that worked together to make it. And congrats to the other banner winners.”
The winning clubs displayed their banners one last time on Saturday, Oct. 5’s homecoming game. Spahr said the clubs looked great “walking the track at the football game at halftime”
Nelson said, “I already can’t wait until next year to see what other groups come up with.”
