Jordon Brown has qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in two events. He is the only Olivet College athlete to qualify for the meet.
Brown, a senior, will be competing in the 400-meter dash and 200-meter dash. The meet will take place March 10-11 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.
The preliminaries for both races are on March 10, and the finals will happen on March 11. The top eight athletes from preliminaries will advance to the finals.
Brown is ranked thirteenth in the 200 and sixteenth in the 400, according to the entry list on the NCAA website. Karen Lutzke, Olivet’s head track and field coach, said that qualifying for nationals in two events is a huge accomplishment for Brown.
Brown raced the 400-meter dash at outdoor nationals last spring, an experience Lutzke believes will help him prepare for this weekend’s meet.
“He just needs to do what he does every day at practice, and he will have a great meet. He is confident and ready to roll,” Lutzke said.
