The Pep Rally event for The University of Olivet was held in the Upton Gym in The Cutler Student Center Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7p.m., according to Joshua Gillespie, Dean of Student Life’s email. This event is for students to have a good time before the homecoming game.

Student Government Association (SGA) members planned and executed this event. Faith Fluker, SGA member and freshman, said “I helped set up the games and made sure that everything ran smoothly.”

This event included prizes and fun games for students to watch and enjoy. The activities included were The Ping Pong Shake, Pie Eating Contest, Musical Chairs and Tug-o-War. There were also performances from The University of Olivet’s cheerleaders and band.

Aniysiah Dunigan, freshman, participated in the activities they had. After the rally, she said “I joined musical chairs, and I played the game where the box was on our back, and we shook the balls out.” She had a wonderful time, and it was a great start for her freshmen year.

This year’s Homecoming Pep Rally was a great way to get the Homecoming week started. Getting everyone excited for the football game on Saturday, Oct. 5 where Olivet won against Kalamazoo with a score of 45-12.
