Student Media Leaders Named for 2023-2024

The student media leaders for 2023-2024 have been announced.

Echo editor is Ella Gaffke, a sophomore Media Production and Communication (MPC) major. Gaffke is a reporter for the Echo and a women’s basketball member this year. Gaffke is from Midland.

Editor of the Garfield Lake Review, the annual literary and arts publication is first-year student Logan Schreiber. She is a writing and publishing major and a graduate of Olivet High School.

Junior Maggie Berner has been named station manager of WOCR 89.1, the student radio station. A Bay City native, Berner is assistant manager of the station this year and an MPC major.

Annually, students interview for these leadership positions. The process is overseen by the Media Board, a committee formed to support student media, made up of faculty advisors and student media leaders.

Current student media leaders are seniors Bray Wright, Echo, and Andy Sadler, WOCR, and sophomore Hanna Sauve, Garfield Lake Review.
