O.C. Student, O.C. Father
I will never forget sitting in the hospital on Oct. 8, 2020 and getting a phone call that one of my close friends had been murdered that night outside of his cousin's house. I remember just sitting there crying feeling so down and hurt as I thought to myself ‘this is the worst year of my life.’ I cried myself to sleep only to be woken up about two hours later to say that my son was about to be born. It was 7 a.m. and I was up and ready. Twelve hours later my son was born at 8lbs 5oz and 19 inches; his name is Tayden John Berry-Heart.
The first night that he was born changed my whole life, not only was that the best day of my life but it also helped me change my life and really work towards my goals. The night that he was born I took so many pictures and videos of us together, I felt a joy that I had never felt before in my life. Being around him and seeing him grown makes me realize how important every day is to life. No longer am I living for me but for him as well, watching him grow every day is so adorable.
In about a week he will be four months and he is being breastfed, but he is growing teeth so early that he has to have his milk pumped into a bottle then fed to him. He has just started yesterday actually, to eat real food so he has started to eat oatmeal and other foods of that sort. He has full control over his body now so we do not have to hold his neck.
He is growing at an enormous rate, he is still three months but already wearing five month clothes. I love seeing his grow and cannot wait to see him grow into the great young man that I know he will become.
