
The University of Olivet Men’s Basketball team played against Kalamazoo College on Wednesday, Jan 22. The game took place at The University of Olivet’s Cutler Athletic Center. Olivet ended the game with a score of 95-64, beating Kalamazoo.
Jake Watkins #1, senior and captain of the basketball team, after the game, said, “Transition offense, pushing the pace, and finding our dominant big man inside,” were the key factors that contributed to Olivet's win tonight.
#23, Nate Richardson, made 20 points during the game along with making a layup that was assisted by #50, Conner Schipper.
Richardson said, “ They can shoot, so we're trying to put fences towards that, and just take them out." Referring to Kalamazoo College's team offense.
Freshman, #12, Porter Kretschman ended the game with 14 points. Adding onto what he did well during the game, Kretschman said “I think I did a great job at passing and finding my teammates."
The atmosphere on the court today was amazing and the team looked locked in ready to win. Kretschman said, “A lot of confidence and we were all ready to play basketball," referencing his team’s emotions before and during the game.
After the game the team celebrated their win in the locker room and ended with a group huddle stating that they are “family”.
