The Upcoming Annual Health Fair

Echo Staff

The third annual health fair is on Feb 12. from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. It will be hosted inside The Cutler Student Center in the community room.

It will be run by the Health and Wellness Center. It is open to all students and staff.

This is an opportunity to put mental health as a top priority. College can be a stressful time for students and this mental health fair has tools to help with that.

“The goal of the health fair is to promote wellness and provide resources for the community,” says Taylor Marsh, senior, the student overseeing the event.

There will be various amounts of resources provided to help with anything students may need. Marsh also said, there will be “free health screenings, HIV testing, fitness demos, nutrition information, and maybe some games.”

Kaitlin Dyer, junior, who is a student worker in the Health and Wellness Center, says that the free health screenings will be more physical, “including screening the back, shoulders, chest, and more for any problems.”

Writer, Alysia Marshall-Seslar, said, “A student's mental health affects their academic performance. Students with good mental health are prepared to learn.”
